Fundamentally,
the golf grip is the single most important element in golfing. Therefore,
of all the training equipment a novice should pursue, the golf training
glove is paramount. Golf clubs should be held in the fingers and not the
palms, and this is where much of the improvement in golf grips begins.
There are various brands and designs of golf training
gloves. One of the more notable is the Butch Harmon Right Grip Golf Glove.
This golf training glove has a "soft bar" placed in the padded
section of the palm to alert the golfer that his/her grip is wrong. The
bars will press gently, yet obviously into the palm of anyone misusing
these gloves. A beneficial side effect is that these training gloves indicate
and prevent holding the golf club too tightly. These golf training gloves
come with an instructional video, and come in left and right, unisex sizes.
